This category allows for the temporary entry of Canadian citizens with a job offer in the US, whose profession is found on a list of occupations in the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). Examples include engineers, accountants, and teachers. The category usually requires at least a bachelor's degree. Upon proof of qualifications, the foreign national can apply at the US border for immediate entry into the US. The status lasts for three years and can be renewed indefinitely.

This category is available also to Mexican citizens; however, they are required to obtain a US visa before traveling to the US.
